Step 4: Explain the grammar Step 5: Do some exercises related to this unit Step 6: summarize what we learnt in the class Reading 一、詞匯講解 1.No, I’m not expected to do the housework.不,我不需要做家務。 expect,動詞,是 “要求;指望”的意思。它還可以解作 “期待;預期”.常用搭配是expect sb. to do sth. 本句是被動語態(tài)形式。 e.g. I can’t expect her to be on time if I’m late myself. 如果我自己都遲到,我不能指望她能準時。 2.Although it sometimes feels crowded in our little flat, we don’t mind. 雖然在我們的小公寓里有時會覺得擠,但我們并不介意。 mind 意思是 “介意”, 及物動詞或不及物動詞。表示 “介意做某事”用mind doing sth. e.g. I hope you don’t mind the noise. 我希望你不要介意者噪音。 Would you mind opening the window? 你介意打開窗戶嗎? 3.New fashions soon go out of date, don’t they? 新的款式很快就過時,不是嗎? 在這句中,go的意思是 “變成;變得”,用作連系動詞,后接形容詞。 e.g.Grandfather’s hair is starting to go grey.爺爺?shù)念^發(fā)日漸變得花白。 4.For example, unless I finish all my homework, I can't watch TV, and I can't go out with my friends either. 例如,如果我沒有完成所有的作業(yè),我就不能看電視,也不能和朋友們外出。 either, 副詞,“也”,常用于否定句,置于句末。 also, too, as well一般用于肯定句。also常置于句中,也可以放在句首;too和as well置于句末。 e.g. I haven’t seen the movie and my brother hasn’t either. 我沒有看過這部電影,哥哥也沒有看過。 Smoking makes you ill. Grammar:系動詞(linking verbs) 一、意義 系動詞亦稱連系動詞(linking Verb),作為系動詞,它本身有詞義,但不能單獨用作謂語,后邊必須跟表語,構成系表結構說明主語的狀況、性質(zhì)、特征等情況。 二、用法 1.狀態(tài)系動詞:用來表示主語狀態(tài),只有be一詞。對于不同的時態(tài)、人稱而言,be動詞有各種形式,如:am ,is , are ,was ,were ,will be ,have been ,has been 等。 be動詞后常接形容詞作表語,描述事物的特征或人的特點、狀態(tài)、品格等。例如: Jerry is very handsome. 杰瑞長得很帥。 The family were quite rich in the past. 這家人以前很有錢。 Our city will be more beautiful in the future. 我們的城市將來會更美麗。 He has been quite unhealthy recently. 他最近身體很不好。 He is a teacher. 他是一名教師。(is與其后的名詞一起說明主語的身份,這里名詞也是作表語。) 2.持續(xù)系動詞:用來表示主語繼續(xù)或保持一種狀況或態(tài)度,主要有:keep(保持、處于), rest(休息、靜止、停止), remain(仍然是、保持不變), stay(保持、繼續(xù)是), lie(處于……狀態(tài)), stand(保持)等。例如: He always keeps silent at meeting. 他開會時總保持沉默。 This matter rests a mystery. 此事仍是一個謎。 Train fares remain unchanged. 火車票價保持不變。 He never stays angry for long. 他生氣的時間從來不會長。 3.表象系動詞:用來表示"看起來像"這一概念,主要有seem, appear, look, 例如: He looks tired. 他看起來很累。 He seems (to be) very sad. 他看起來很傷心。 She appears very old.她顯得很老。 4.感官系動詞:感官系動詞主要有feel(感覺), smell(聞起來), sound聽起來), taste(嘗起來), 例如: This kind of cloth feels very soft.這種布手感很軟。 This flower smells very sweet.這朵花聞起來很香。 His idea sounded reasonable.他的主意聽起來有道理。 Honey tastes sweet.蜂蜜有甜味。 5.變化系動詞:這些系動詞表示主語變成什么樣,變化系動詞主要有become, grow, turn, fall, get, go, come.例如: He became mad after that. 自那之后,他瘋了。 She grew rich within a short time. 她沒多長時間就富了。 She turned pale.她的臉色變得蒼白。 The old man fell asleep on the bus.那個老人在公交車上睡著了。 The weather gets warmer.天氣暖和起來了。 The food went bad.食物變質(zhì)了。(go常指朝不好的方向變化) His dream came true at last.他最終夢想成真了。 6.終止系動詞:表示主語已終止動作,主要有prove, turn out, 表達"證實","變成"之意,例如: The rumor proved false. 這謠言證實有假。 The search proved difficult. 搜查證實很難。 His plan turned out a success. 他的計劃終于成功了。(turn out表終止性結果) 說明: 1.有些系動詞又是實義動詞,該動詞表達實義時,有詞義,可單獨作謂語,例如: He fell ill yesterday. 他昨天病了。(fell是系動詞,后跟表語,說明主語情況。) He fell off the ladder.他從梯子上摔下來。 The leaves fell.樹葉掉落了。(fell是實義動詞,單獨作謂語。) 2.部分系動詞后也可跟名詞或名詞短語作表語。這樣的系動詞主要有狀態(tài)系動詞be、表象系動詞seem、感官系動詞sound、變化系動詞become、持續(xù)系動詞remain等。例如: He was a postman six years ago.他六年前是個郵遞員。 He has become a famous doctor.他已經(jīng)成為了一個知名的醫(yī)生。 That sounds a good idea.聽起來是個不錯的主意。 He remains an ordinary worker.他還是個普通工人。 He seems a stranger to me.我覺得他似乎就是個陌生人。 中考鏈接 (2010山東省濰坊市20. 1)The cookies _______ good .Could I have some more? Part of growing up is learning to live with these kinds of disagreements, and learning to understand another person’s way of looking at things. 成才的一部分就是學著去和這類分歧共存,學著去了解別人看待事物的形式。 本句的主語part of growing up 是動名詞短語。動名詞可以充當句子的主語,也可作表語。例如,本句中的learning。。。在連系動詞后,是表語 Eg. Seeing is believing.眼見為實 Collecting stamps is his hobby. 集郵是他的愛好 Her job was washing clothes. 他的工作是洗衣服。 四. 經(jīng)典句記憶 1.
