高中英語(yǔ)說(shuō)課稿 高中英語(yǔ)教師 趙寶麗 NSEFC BOOK6 Unit3 A healthy life Today I want to share my teaching ideas with you. It is “A healthy life” taken from Unit3,Book6. My presentation consists of 7 parts: analysis of teaching material and students; teaching methods and studying ways;teaching aids; teaching procedures ; teaching assessment; blackboard design.; teaching reflection. Part I: Analysis of the teaching material and students 1. Analysis of the teaching material This reading passage is an important part of this unit. It mainly talks about a topic that the grandfather gives his grandson some advice on how to give up smoking. The type of this class is an extensive reading class, which plays an important part in developing students’ reading ability. So, during the teaching process, the teacher should focus on developing the students’ reading ability by extensive reading, and let them to learn some reading skills such as skimming, scanning and so on. Moreover, let them know more about how people can keep physically healthy. 2. Analysis of the students Most of my students are poor in English; They show little interest in learning English. Most of them are lack of vocabulary and confidence. So, during the teaching process, the teacher should focus on how to arouse their interest in English. Moreover, the teacher should teach them the proper ways to learn English and encourage them to learn English well. 3. Teaching aims 1) Knowledge aims a. Let students to learn the following useful new words and expressions: abuse, stress, ban, mental, quit, effect, unfit, strengthen, desperate, disappointed; addicted to, accustomed to, give up, by the way, have an effect on, and so on. b. let students to read the passage and let them know more about smoking harmful and get good advice on stopping smoking 2) Ability aims Develop students’ reading skills by extensive reading and enable them to learn how to use different reading skills to read different reading materials. 3) Emotional aims a. Let students have a better understanding of how people can keep physically healthy. b. Develop students’sense of group co- operation and teamwork. 4. Teaching key points 1). Develop students’ reading skills by extensive reading. 2). Have students master the important new words and expressions in this part. 3). Let students read and understand the passage “ADVICE FROM GRANDAD”. 5. Teaching difficult points 1). Enable students to learn how to use some reading skills such as skimming, scanning and so on. 2). How to help the students to grasp and remember the detailed information of the text. Part 2: Teaching methods and studying ways 1) Task-based teaching approach 2) Scanning, skimming 3) Question-and-answer activity teaching method 4) Pair work and individual work method Part3: Teaching aids 1). Using a multi-media computer 2). Other normal teaching tools Part4: Teaching procedures According to the teaching aims, I divide the teaching procedures into 7steps. Step1. Greeting and revision(5mins) The purpose of this step: To revise the knowledge in previous class. Step2. Lead-in(3mins) T: let the students look at some pictures and ask students some questions. What are they doing? Can you tell which activity is healthy and which activity is unhealthy? The purpose of my design: To arouse their interest in the topic and lead in the topic. Step3. Pre- reading(2mins) 1. Have you ever smoked? If you have, have you ever tried to stop? 2. Why do you think some adolescents start smoking? 3. In what ways is smoking harmful? 4. What advice would you give to someone who wanted to stop smoking? 5. Where could you get good advice on stopping smoking? The purpose of my design: To enable students to learn to work well in teamwork and overcome Ss’ shyness and let them speak in public. Step4. While-reading (15mins) 1).Fast reading T: Skim the letter and answer the following questions. 1. How many parts does the reading text consist of? Two parts. The first part is a letter and the second part is an internet page. 2. Who wrote the letter to whom? A grandfather wrote the letter to his grandson James. 3. What is the purpose of the letter? This letter aims to explain how a smoker becomes addicted to cigarettes and why he should give up. The purpose of my design: To develop Ss’ reading skill, that is,enable the students to find out some exact information quickly. 2).Detail reading T:Read the letter carefully, and try to fill in the chart with information from the reading passage. Division Main idea Detailed facts Part 1 Grandpa’s healthy life It seems amazing that at my age I am still__1_ to cycle 20 kilometers in an afternoon. Part 2 James’ problem of smoking and leading to the topic l It is ____2__to stop smoking. l Grandpa also smoked and became ___3__to cigarettes during his____4____ Part 3 Three different ways of becoming addicted to smoking l First you become __5___ addicted to nicotine. l Secondly, you become addicted through habit; you begin to do it __6__ l Lastly, you can become mentally addicted. Part 4 The harmful effects of smoking l It was difficult for smoking couples to become__7___ l A smoker can become _8__ quickly when enjoying sport. Part 5 Advice on how to give up smoking l __9__a day to quit when you are not stressful. l Don’t be _10__ if you have to try several times. Decide on 10.disappointed The purpose of my design: To enable the students to find out the detailed information of this text and understand the structure of this passage. Step5. Post-reading (10mins) ( Discussion ) 1. What kind of person do you think James’ grandfather is? He is fit and healthy and leads an active life. He takes an interest in his daughter’s and his grandson’s well-being. He is knowledgeable. He reads the Internet. He appears to love his grandson. 2. According to the passage, how can people stop smoking? List at least two ways. Prepare yourself; Be determined; Break the habit; Relax; Get help if necessary; Keep trying The purpose of my design: To cultivate teamwork spirit. Step6. Consolidation 1. Finish some words and expressions exercises 2. Write a summary of the passage. The purpose of my design: To check teaching effectiveness. Step7. Homework 1.Review and summarize what you have learned in this lesson. 2. Recite the new words and expressions of this part. 3. Finish off the workbook exercises. The purpose of my design: Review and improvement Part 5: Teaching assessment Checking yourself(Exercises in the Workbook) First get the students to think about these questions individually. Then they can discuss in groups sharing their experience. The teacher can join in and give them advice and suggestions where necessary. The purpose of my design: To consolidate the knowledge learned in this lesson. Part6: Blackboard design I. Pre-reading II. Answer questions III. Post-reading Part 7: Teaching reflection. In the reading process, the biggest obstacle for students is mainly from two aspects: A lack of vocabulary and a smattering of grammatical structure. So, to improve the quality of reading class and train students’ reading ability, we must pay attention to the study of language structure and the expansion of vocabulary.
