2、n Press and plays an important part in the English teaching in this unit. This lesson is mainly about communicating with others by using body language. Therefore, this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. If the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn t
3、he rest of this unit.
The analysis of the students:
As we know, students in this period have consolidated the basic knowledge of listening, speaking, reading and writing, which provide a good basis for the following English learning. However, they still have some difficulties in analyzing the str
4、ucture of the text including the topic sentence of each part and the main idea of the text. So in this class, we will focus on them by guiding the students to communicate, cooperate and discuss with one anther.
Teaching aims:
1. Lead the students to get some information about the text through rea
5、ding.
2. The students are able to summarize the main idea of the text.
3. The students can analyze the structure of the text.
4. Develop the students’ awareness to use body language in daily life.
5. Build up the students’ spirit of group cooperation and pair work.

Q1: What is body language?
Q2: What do you think is the purpose of body language?
Ss answer the Qs one by one.
Purpose: To arouse the Ss’ interest and activate Ss’ existing kno

Activity2:Predicting
1.T asks the Ss’ question: what do you think the article will talk about?
2.Ss make predictions according to the above questions and the title.
3.T writes down Ss’ ideas on the blackboard.
Purpose: To enable the Ss to find out the main idea to develop their reading

Step 2: While-reading (Group work and pair work))
Activity1: match game
T presents the Ss the topic sentence of each part and let them to match the topics with the paragraphs.
Purpose: To enable the Ss to pick up the key information from the text and be clear about the structure of the

Activity2:Scanning (Individual work and Whole Class work)
T asks the Ss to scan the text and a fill in the following form (A PowerPoint will be used here to present them.)
Ss work in pairs to check the answers.
T organizes Ss to report their answers.
Purpose: To help the Ss be familiar w
12、ith the details and be prepared for further comprehension of the text.
Activity3:Gap filling(Whole Class work)
T asks the Ss to fill in it. (A PowerPoint will be used here to present them.)
The Ss present the answers in group.
Purpose: To check how much Ss have understood the text and how well t

Today we have talked about body language. And in this lesson we have mainly analyzed the structure of the text including different people from different countries using different body language, and th

Purpose: To guide the Ss to review and summarize the text to have a deeper understanding of the text.
Homework:
1. Read and retell the reading comprehension after class.
Purpose: To practice the Ss’ ora
16、l English and make them understand the passage exactly.
2. Produce a short paragraph by using some key phrases and the supporting sentences.
Purpose: To spur Ss to consolidate what they have learned and develop their writing skill.
Optional activities:
Group work to finish exercise 1 on page 27

Purpose: To be selected to conduct if necessary.
