第二課時
Reading
第一步:預讀,教師事先設計導讀性問題,要求學生通過解讀標題和插圖,閱讀文章的開頭和結尾,在最短的時間內(nèi)作答,然后用三兩句話概括大意。

第二步:略讀,要求學生全文通讀,忽略不懂的生詞,但是要求分辨出各個段落的大概意思。然后完成課后的第三題。

第三步:在詳細閱讀之前提示關于唐山大地震的背景:struck at 3.42am. on july 28, 1976;7.8

were rescued;injuries from the earthquake caused 2.200 people
to become paraplegics.
第四步:要求學生邊讀邊完成課后的第一題,第二題。其中,第一題連接句子不但是對課文內(nèi)容的考察,也是對英語句子邏輯性和語法的一個聯(lián)系,在學生回答的事情應該引導他們注意這兩點。
另外,教師可以設計一些需要查找的信息和具體事實的問題或任務:

要求學生帶著問題快速瀏覽文章,從閱讀材料中,迅速查找這些特定的信息和具體的事實。
第五步:要求學生運用語境猜測詞的意思,把不認識的單詞用簡單的語句表述出來,分組討論學習黑體字單詞及詞組的意思和用法。

小組活動,分工整理和講解重點句型和難點。
